Personal Fitness Training Business Requires Effective Communication

Being able to have an effective personal fitness training business requires strong communication skills. Your job as a personal fitness trainer is to motivate your client into getting results. Results that are highly specific to your clients wishes, wants, and needs. During a personal training session, you may ask the client to enter the “uncomfortable training zone.” This can be especially challenging for some personal training program participants. Personal Trainer Training Necessary For Success

In order to be successful in the fitness business personal trainer training is mandatory. If your knowlege isn’t growing, it is declining. Rarely does it stay the same.

Now I am not just referring to the study of exercise physiology, but business, sales, and marketing. What personal trainer training consists of is the necessary education to effectively coach clients toward fitness success. But it doesn’t stop there. Learning how to run a successful personal training business is key.

Among the type of personal trainer training includes personal training courses, workshops, and even home study courses. The bottom line is the fitness professional is focusing on the importance of continuing education.

In todays ultra competitive fitness training market it is important to be qualifed. When I mean qualified I am referring to both anatomy, physiology, and business knowledge. When it comes to business personal trainer training most fitness professional seem to drop the ball. I encourage all personal trainers to continue educating themselves on business, sales, and marketing. After all, this is the knowledge that is going to fill your wallet up.

Personal Trainer Salary Increases With Perceived Value

What should a personal fitness trainer charge? What type of personal trainer salary should he or she expect? My answer is it all depends on the clients perceived value of the service. If the client thinks you are delivering more than $100 an hour in service, you can charge $100 per hour or more. If the client doesn’t feel you offer $100 in value, they are not going to like your personal training rate very much.

The moral of the story is to increase perceived value of your personal training service; and you will be able to charge much more. In my opinion, a personal fitness trainers salary should be justified by the degree of education, personal training certification, experience, their specific specialty, and how much perceived value they can pass onto the client.

If you are a personal fitness trainer who focuses on over delivering value to your clients, you should never be shy about having higher than average rates. A trainer who has a very high perceived value by clients is well on the way to having a personal trainer salary of over $100,000 each year.

Personal Trainer Courses Not All Created Equally

Becoming a personal trainer should not be as simple as taking a personal trainer course, reading a short book, and taking a 100 question exam. Thus, in a day or two you are so called qualified to be a professional fitness trainer. I don’t think so! This bothers me about the personal fitness training industry. One professional fitness trainer graduates with a degree in Exercise Physiology and has an American College Of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certificiation, while the other trainer took an unaccredited weekend workshop personal trainer course, and they are both personal trainers.

The individual with the college degree has spend thousands of hours studying anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, and exercise physiology. However, the weekend certified fitness trainer spent less than 12 hours on study. As industy insiders we know the difference between ASCM, and some fly by night $49 personal trainer course. The problem is the general public has no idea of the difference. Therefore, it is our responsibility to educate the general public about what to look for when selecting a professional trainer. Not all personal training courses are created equal. It is recommended to do your due diligence when selecting a personal training school. Don’t select the least expensive one that has been around for a year, and can be taken over the internet.

You owe it to yourself, and the industry to take your personal training education seriously. One you have taken one of the top personal training schools, you should be in a good position to just about blow away any fitness trainer who attended an online workshop to earn a certification. By following the Personal Training Riches business program, you will know exactly how to destroy your competition.

When selecting personal training schools make sure you pick the best training course possible to give you an inherent advantage over your competition. You can use it to your advantage.

Professional Liability Insurance For Personal Trainers Is A Must

If you are a professional fitness trainer, and don’t have liability insurance you are making a big mistake. For the low cost of personal training insurance it is definitely worth every penny to have. My rule of thumb is it is better to be safe than sorry.

Suppose you are training someone, and accidentally drop a dumbell on their foot. The next day you find out your clients foot is broken, and she can’t go to work for one week. You could be in big trouble. Professional liability insurance for personal trainers is very easy to get.

Chances are you will never have to use it, but if you do, it is available. It is better than losing your house, isn’t it?

You can discover more about professional liability insurance by visiting my fitness insurance .

When planning your business, do yourself a big favor and don’t forget personal trainer liability insurance.

Am I Qualified To Create A Product On Marketing Personal Training?

Some might ask if I am qualified to create a product on marketing personal training. I can assure you I have done thousands upon thousands of personal training sessions over the last 16 plus years. Let me tell you, I certainly learned from the school of hard knocks. Marketing personal training from the trenches for an extensive period of time certainly opens a fitness trainers eyes as to what works, and what doesn’t. Another words, failing your way to success is a journey with many lessons. These many lesson are valuable to share with others marketing personal fitness training from trenches.

After getting a degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, I decided to head to Hollywood to train celebrities, and train myself at the Mecca Of Bodybuilding - Gold’s Gym in Venice. Prior to heading to Los Angeles to market my personal training services, I paid my dues with an internship at the YMCA. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, I immediately received a job offer from the most exclusive health club in the United States, Sports Club LA. After working at The Sports Club Los Angeles for a couple of years, I decided to go out on my own, and enter the trenches. Thus, I have never worked for anyone but myself since. That was like thirteen years ago. So far, the risk of starting my own personal training business was the most satisfying, and profitable decision I have ever made. It enabled me greater financial, and personal freedom. I set my own hours, take my own days off, and decide who I want to train, and who I don’t.

Yes, I have worked with many world famous celebrites over the years. Directors, Oscar award winning screen writers, producers, and well known actors are among my clients. This is everything, and more I expected to accomplish after packing the car and leaving the state of Wisconsin for Hollywood.

In my newest product, Personal Training Riches, I take over 16 years of live personal fitness training experience, a college degree in Exercise Physiology, and over 27,248 personal training sessions to deliver a tell all product on how to build a very financially properous personal training business.

I promise not to hold anything back. I am completely spilling the beans on how I marketed my personal training business to the point of literally having people fight over times to work with me. You, too, can reap the riches of personal training at an even faster rate than I experienced because I paid the price with personal fitness training marketing blood, sweat, and tears so you won’t have to.

As Personal Trainer Training Improves Money Flows

If you want to make more money as a personal trainer, your personal trainer training must quickly improve! I came across a fellow fitness professionals blog and he suggested personal fitness trainers need to focus on improving their own personal trainer training. Another words, become a better training. I totally agree with him.

The fact is if you are not improving as a personal fitness trainer, you are declining. There is no staying the same! I strongly urge you to begin work on making yourself a better personal trainer. Yes, improving your sales, and marketing is mandatory, but also improving your fitness training skills is crucial. By getting better as a trainer, your results will speak for themselves. You will be delivering greater results to your clients. The more results delivered, the more clients you will theoretically attract, and retain.

Work on effective client communication, motivation, as well as the understanding of effective Exercise Physiology principles. When you combined powerful personal training marketing and sales knowledge with improved training, you are almost guaranteed to hit a financial home run. The combination of both yields dollars! Therefore, may I challenge your personal trainer training to include both fitness marketing, and continuing personal trainer education. The combination of the two will catapult your personal training business into money overdrive.

Online Personal Training Adds Extra Profit Center

Welcome to the year 2007! Information, and technology are king. Therefore, online personal training is really taking off. There are several advantages online fitness training offers. First off, it is more economical for clients who don’t have the extra income to personally train one-on-one. For the existing personal fitness training business this opens up a whole new profit centers, and sales closing options for those who say they can’t afford your services.

Another advantage of online personal fitness training is the client has access to their workout information while on a business trip, or vacation. Online personal training is generally internet web based.

A personal fitness trainer can also use online personal training as another profit center offering nutrititional analysis services.

The main disadvantage of online personal fitness coaching is it is not as easy forming a stron bond with your clients. You generally can’t physically reach out and shake their hands, or look them in the eyes. All in all, personal fitness trainers should definitely offer some sort of online personal training for an added profit center.
